CURRENCY MATTER in Bali
In Bali, its more than 10 foreign currencies that can be convert or exchange. As we all aware the currencies exchange rates are regularly fluctuate every minute even in seconds. In these circumstances, sometime you may have the benefit to get cheaper or little more expensive(vice-versa) might happen when doing transaction. You may exchange your origin currency to Rupiah (Rp) or US Dollar. however there lots of places in Bali can use USD for transaction. Money Changer - Be very careful when changing your money, always check the rate of exchange and commission (if any). Most importantly, always count your money before you leave the premises. Bali is on Central Indonesian Time, 8 hours ahead of GMT and 4 hours behind Australian Eastern Standard Time. Domestic Airport Tax Rp.20.000 while International Airport Tax Rp.100.000
TIPPING in Bali
This is not a general practice in Bali; in the larger hotels a service charge is already included. In smaller hotels and restaurants tips are not expected. However, if the service ha been good a token of Rp.10.000 - Rp.20.000 would be appreciated. Tax and service charge amount to 21% on top of all bills.

…change money at a reputable looking locations, use your own calculator before changing! …put on loads of High Factor Waterproof Sun Cream (especially if you intend to spend a lot of time in the water). …drink a lot of bottled water and eat a lot of fresh fruit – do your body a favour. …be careful with your belongings at all the time. Crime is on the increase and can ruin your holiday. Cases of handbag snatching have been reported so please leave important documents in your hotel safe (carry photo-copies) and wear you bag across your shoulders! …try not to step on offerings in the street (walk around them). …respect the slow pace of procession. If you stuck behind one i.e. – Don’t honk! …haggle when buying (except on price-tagged goods) …buy ‘Immodium’ to relieve bouts of Bali belly. …have a great holiday!

…forget to bring your passport (or a photocopy of your ID) with you at all times! …swim outside designated swimming areas. Current can be very strong so swim between red and yellow flags. …do drugs! It could lead to death penalty. Enough foreigners reside in Bali in courtesy of the Govt. Prison service! …touch people’ heads – it is very offensive to Hindus. …enter a temple during menstruation. Sorry Ladies! …forget to add salt to our food and to drink lots of water – your probably sweat more here than at home. …worry too much about the ice – it’s government quality controlled in established bars and restaurants. …forget look and listen while crossing the road. Cars may stop, motorbikes may not! …overslept if you have trip schedule in the morning.
